Life Training 101
August 4, 2025 Have you ever heard the saying that everybody should wait tables for at least one year in their lives? You know, so you might gain some sort of empathy towards your fellow man? Perhaps learn how to treat people with dignity and respect? Or failing that, getting the pleasure of wiping your ball sweat on a customer's burger if they are a complete dick cheese towards you? Because, yeah, there's always that one asshole that just can't be reached. Well, how about

Mother Nature's Child
August 1, 2025 I have always listened to the land. I watch and listen to what the insects and the animals and the rocks have to tell me. I hear the wind, I watch the clouds...the sun likes to talk to me. Who knows what makes me tick. My grandfather would say that's the Mohawk Indian in me...legend has it we are of that tribe. It's never been proven, but I tell you what, my grandfather, my dad and his siblings all look like they were certainly Native American. The weird

Alien Man
July 31, 2025 My son and I ventured off to Morristown, NJ yesterday to see a Led Zeppelin cover band at the community theater. They were flat out awesome. Such insane talent on stage last night playing songs from an insanely talented band. I have never been able to play an instrument and I can't sing to save my life. I have always been jealous of those who have the musical gift, and quite frankly how easy it seems to come to those who have it. (disclaimer, I know it's no

Update This!
July 29, 2025 I didn't ask for it, I didn't want it, change it back to the way it used to be. Updates make me want to punch a hole in the wall and take a baseball bat to whatever piece of technology that was so abruptly and rudely changed for no good reason. Hey, I get it, job security. But when I could do something with one click back in the 90's that now takes 17 unnecessary and grueling steps, I say, "well that's quite enough sir!" Every God Damned time I finally figure

0-for-1
July 28, 2025 This is the summer of the sequel, prequel, retread and remake. It started out with the long awaited season two of Andor...which was an absolute gem of a masterpiece. A homerun of mammoth proportions and one of the best television series I've seen in years. You didn't have to know a damned thing about Star Wars to watch it, as it stood on its own. And if you didn't want to que up Rogue One and A New Hope right after it ended, then you've got a screw loose. S

The Perfect End
July 24, 2025 I've been thinking about this for a while. How will this nightmare end? When will the bad man go away? What would be the most fitting end for this monster we call a president? I was hoping he would end up in an orange jumpsuit, but there are different rules for the wealthy. Convicted of a crime, let alone 34 of them? No worries, you're rich! You don't have to go to jail. Hey, you can even be president! What a country! I would never want to see an assass

The Worst
July 23, 2025 Aaron Boone, worst baseball manager of all time. Brian Cashman, most overrated General manger of all time. Hal Steinbrenner, awful execubot...needs to sell the team. Aaron Judge's career is being wasted with this awful regime. I will never see the Yankees win a World Series again. I could care less about football or basketball (go ahead, report me to the un-American activities commission)...and get this I'm a New York Rangers fan! I will never witness one

RIP Ozzy
July 22, 2025 All across the world in caves, barns and attic spaces alike, bats are celebrating the demise of the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne. The mere fact that this man lasted 76 years was quite astonishing and quite frankly impressive. That's like 760 years in rock and roll age. Well done to a life well lived. Other than your quirky reality tv shows you did with your family, you will mostly be remembered for your music. Black Sabbath leading the way, and rightfu

The A-List
July 21, 2025 The current President and tyrant king is already a convicted felon, so he's in pretty rarified territory to begin with. He orchestrated an attempted coup and sent an army of MAGA nitwits to storm the Capital Building when he lost to Joe Biden. Not only did he get away scot-free, he pardoned every single one of them! Again, rarified territory and total corruption at its highest level. When the Jeffrey Epstein files are finally released, it will most likely sho

The Reboot
July 20, 2025 I'm usually not one for reboots, or sequels, or long running serials that have gone passed their prime. I hate when the powers that be redo a classic film or tv show, insert the latest Hollywood twits, and wait for the dump trucks of money to come in. It's awful, it's painful and I loath the fact that I end up watching half of this crap with the hope that just maybe one of them will hit paydirt and deliver us to simpler times. Or, at the very least, make me l

SMTWTFS
July 19, 2025 I'm starting to think that with every decade you manage to stay alive, your doctor rewards you with another pill to take. Starting this week, I'm up to four and a daily vitamin. What will my 50's bring I wonder? I'm thinking a baby Aspirin. Perhaps some Carter's Liver Pills? Only time will tell! Give these a try, if they don't work we'll bleed you out with some leeches.

We Need A Bigger Boat!
July 18th, 2025 While waiting for the second half of the baseball season to begin, and nothing to watch on the telly, I happened upon the original Jaws. Yes, 50-years-old, she is. Hard to believe, but then again I'm almost 50 myself. So, not that hard I guess. I usually watch it at least once or twice a year on DVD, but I lent my copy to my brother-in-law and he flat out refuses to give it back! Or as he puts it, "Damn, I forgot again." Yeah, right, Andrew. The nerve!

Showtime!
July 16, 2025 If you heard the opening song to 'Showtime at the Apollo' it was abundantly clear that you had stayed up way too late. Those of you who grew up in the 80's and 90's know exactly what I'm talking about. If not, we probably wouldn't have been friends. Holy crap! Is it 1am already? I better get my ass to bed!

My Hero
July 15, 2025 My father was a sports reporter. That's what the guy did for a living. He got to watch sporting events all over the country, go into locker rooms to meet the players, hobnob with the coaches and owners...amazing when I think of it. He flew with them on planes, stayed at the same hotels and went out to dinner with them when on the road. This is how my father paid the mortgage and kept us fed. It was an awesome way to grow up. Even more so when a player would

Make Your Own Damned Drink!
July 14, 2025 A few years ago the seltzers started to appear at BBQ's across the nation. It was an answer at how horrible beer had become. I know a lot of you folks out there love the IPA, but to me I might as well be drinking poison. Then there was the Imperial Stouts, Lambics and Ales...yes, they are tasty but at 10% alcohol and thicker than paint, pounding one of them during a pool party just doesn't quite mix. And don't even get me started with Sours...who the fuck th
