Have you ever heard the saying that everybody should wait tables for at least one year in their lives? You know, so you might gain some sort of empathy towards your fellow man? Perhaps learn how to treat people with dignity and respect? Or failing that, getting the pleasure of wiping your ball sweat on a customer's burger if they are a complete dick cheese towards you? Because, yeah, there's always that one asshole that just can't be reached.
Well, how about taking it one step further? I think that every politician should learn how to live paycheck to paycheck. They should be forced to live in some secluded town out in the middle of nowhere. Be given a budget and be forced to survive. Have curveballs thrown at them like having their health insurance taken away. Or have to pay double for their groceries without having their paychecks meet the demand of inflation. How about having their car break down or get repossessed for non payment? Shit, can't get to work? Whatever will you do?
If anything, it would make a great reality show. After all, the current president is, himself, a former reality show celebrity, is he not? Come to think of it, I certainly feel like I'm living inside a reality show. At least I think I am. It certainly would explain a lot. Now, time to figure out how to get the roof fixed. If only I knew how to hit a curveball, life would certainly be different.
