Wishful Thinking

Well, the time for scraping knees and spelling bees has begun again. The kids are gone, the house is quiet, and now I can get back to business and resume my writing. Well, I'll do my best anyways; laziness and being old is proving to consistently get in the way. Maybe it's time to start calling it, "Uncle Ray's Thought of the Week". It would certainly be much easier! So, as the new school year begins unabated, here is my wish list for the next nine months...

  1. The Yankees, in spite of their Manager Aaron Boone and General Manager Brian Cashman, somehow find a way to win the World Series.

  2. We miraculously come into a bit of cash and can finally get the house fixed soup to nuts.

  3. Trump is found in contempt of court, or guilty of some heinous crime and the spineless Republicans in the GOP actually find the courage to stand up to him...impeaching and convicting the mother fucker.

  4. The New York Rangers defy the odds and the experts and win a Stanley Cup!

  5. They find the treasure on Oak Island.

What will most likely happen...

  1. The Yankees, trying to hit 900 foot homeruns every at bat will be humiliated in the first round yet again. But, being that Boone and Cashman somehow steered this team into a playoff spot, both keep their jobs despite the team not winning a championship since 2009.

  2. Back to the salt mines you lazy liberals! Only wealthy people "come into" mysterious piles of cash. As is the case with the previous 17 years of owning this money pit of a house, we will fix what needs immediate mending and continue to have delusions of grandeur.

  3. Trump is already a convicted criminal and already defies the courts...even the Supreme Court. The GOP had two chances to get rid of him already and pussied out in miraculous fashion both times. So the "Law and Order" party marches on.

  4. The New York Rangers are a jinxed organization run by morons, they will never win a cup again. But it is nice to dream!

  5. As the saying goes with any good treasure hunt, the adventures trying to find it was the true treasure, not the shiny and sparkly things you were searching for. Nothing will be found but ancient wood from previous searches. But man, watching the show certainly made a bunch of winter Tuesdays more tolerable.

In the end, all I have to say, is thank the Good Lord for vodka! Here's to another successful school year!

Okay everybody, listen up!
Okay everybody, listen up!
