I'm not sure if it was a testament to great customer service, or a sign that my drinking has progressed to the next level. On the way home from vacation today the phone rang in the car and my liquor store Bottle King was calling. My first thought was how the hell did they get my number?! The second was that they hadn't seen me in a few days and were getting worried. I know first hand from all my years as a bartender, when a regular abruptly stops showing up they were either dead, dying or got a DWI...or failing that, in the clink.
The verdict? I had asked them a couple of weeks ago to order a beer for me and they obliged. Yes, great customer service! And yes, when my liquor store orders a pallet of my favorite beer and calls me up to tell me it's in, my drinking has progressed to the next level. Now I better get over there and start drinking that New Castle Brown Ale, because I'll probably be the only one buying it. It doesn't have enough hops, or hemp or have some crazy flavor undertone that has no business being in a beer. No, it tastes like beer and it comes in a six pack. Brilliant! It's going to make the rest of this summer great!
Thank you Bottle King, you made my day.
