Where's the Fish?

The thing I remember the most about going to the Jersey Shore as a child and even as a young adult was the fresh seafood. Every place you went had lobster, scallops, clam chowder, fresh flounder, oysters, steamers...you name a creature from the sea, it was available, raw or cooked or somewhere in-between. I just spent a week in Cape May County and all I can find is short ribs out the wazoo.

And hey, listen, nothing against the short rib as I am a huge fan. I even have its autograph on a glossy 8-by-10 in a nice frame back home. But when I come down here, I want to eat as many frigging creatures of the sea that I can possibly consume. What's the deal people? Where is the fresh flounder? Where is the Mako shark and swordfish? Bay scallops, sea scallops...all the scallops! I want some damned seafood people, stop the madness!

Okay, that's enough out of me. It's time to go out to dinner and attempt one last time before we go home tomorrow to find me some scallops, maybe a little New England clam chowder with some oyster crackers...oh baby, that sounds nice. And one last thing, Jersey shore...I love you with all my heart and always will...but can we stop charging prices like we're in the Caribbean Islands? It's getting to the point where it's actually cheaper to go down there instead. Don't tempt me! Get some frigging fish on the menu and those prices down. If it gets any more expensive I'm going on a cruise...and I know I can get fish there!

Had a great vacation, time to go home, and I'll be back next year to complain again. Love you so much you stupid jerks! Now get some damned flounder on the menu!

Just think, before the idiots on the Jersey Shore arrived, this view was a third the price. Good times.
