I'm not one for tooting my own horn...but my Pulse is still pulsing! How did I make this happen? I don't know...but words like dedication, stick-to-itiveness, gumption, moxie, persistence, tenacity, perseverance and determination come to mind! But more importantly, remembering to change the batteries before the acid leaks out and destroys the little blinking light forever.
Yes, I purchased this album my senior year of high school (1995 for those of you wondering). At the Jersey shore on prom weekend if I recall properly. Do you remember the thrill of a new album release? Counting down the days, weeks and sometimes months for your favorite band to throw another collection of songs at you? Be it a new album, or a live concert as this particular CD was.
Pulse was the craziest album release of all time, and by none other than Pink Floyd. Think about the bold audacity of it all. A double CD album with a fully illustrated book, but more importantly, a little red light that never stopped blinking! Well, as long as you changed out the batteries in the nick of time. That was the crazy magic of the 1990's. A forever blinking CD on your bookshelf.
It's now in my guest room, and every time I entertain, I find it turned backwards! Brilliant. Shine on you crazy diamonds, my Pulse still blinks! And for those of you who let your light go out, shame on you. Try harder.
