Spring Break!

According to a report I saw on the local news this morning, one-in-three Americans plan to spend $5000 on a spring break vacation this year. I’d love to see what they are spending on the summer vacation! What happened to inflation? What happened to nobody having money? I guess the price of bread and eggs isn’t too bad all of a sudden?
I managed to go on one spring break during my second senior year of college. We crammed seven guys into my Plymouth Duster, shared one hotel room meant for two people and drank Natty Ice by the pool for five days. By the time we got back to New Jersey we had just enough money to pay the last .35 toll on the Driscol Bridge and rolled into town on fumes. Now that was Spring Break 90's style baby!
The report said “bucket list” vacations are part of this surge of spending. Bucket list? Oh, now I get it. I think people are pretty sure the world is coming to a gruesome end sooner than later. I guess the credit card company can’t come after you if there’s nobody left on the planet. Or I supposed you could just claim bankruptcy several times over or just refuse to pay any of your bills like somebody else we know.
