My Two Cents

What's really behind the abolition of the penny? I realize it costs more money to make than it's worth...so it makes perfect financial and fiscal sense to halt its production.  As a matter of fact, for the 15 years I worked behind the bar in various restaurants, we never used them.  We just rounded up or down to the nickle.  Nobody cared.  And at the end of the shift you were maybe off by a dime at most. No biggie in the grand scheme of things. The time you saved not opening the penny roll and or counting pennies at shift's end saved time on the old time clock.  A win-win for you and the boss.

And let's not forget at year's end when we roll our spare change...ugh those damned pennies take forever to count.  And for what?  Three extra dollars?  Screw that!  Give me a few rolls of quarters, that's where it's at baby! And please, do you really think the stable genius came up with this cost saving measure on his own?  He managed to bankrupt his own casino...you have to be a pretty special brand of nitwit to accomplish that feat!  So, what is it?  Why the hate on the old penny?

I thought about this for a while and it dawned on me.  I've got it!  Wasn't Lincoln secretly gay?  Could it be the man the GOP once championed as the father of the Republican party preferred the company of men?  Is the penny the secret shame of the proud conservative Republican!? Watchout $5 dollar bill, your next!  You, with the dirty, filthy smelly penny have done gone woke! Watch your back Lincoln Memorial! The Maga crowd stormed the Capitol Building once and got away with it scot-free! Who knows what the mindless red hatted sheep could do next!

In the meantime, I'm going to make sure I finish filling up my old penny collecting books! It may very well be my last chance!

Where the hell is the 1954 S? I have to find it before it's too late!!!!
