It's Official!

Well, I had my first fall the other day. We all know what that means. Start the clock, my time is starting to wind down. With hands full, of live ladybugs for the garden mind you, I went to step over the retaining wall on the patio with my left leg and missed. My right leg went barreling into the stone wall leaving it bloodied, bruised and swollen. It's been a week, it still hurts, and now it's all purple, yellow and green as it slowly begins to heal.

But this isn't the first sign of my impending doom. No, just one of many. In two weeks is my 30th high school reunion. Shit, that came up quick. I feel like it was yesterday that I was pleading with the maitre d at our 10th reunion to not cut off the liquor service after my delinquent friends stole a bottle of whiskey and were doing shots in the bathroom. Yes, my friends are idiots. And I guess I am too. To put things into more perspective, my son is going to be a freshman next year. In the very same school I graduated from three decades ago. Hopefully he's a little less of a moron than I was. Hopefully.

And last, but not least, the pull bars started going up in the house. The first one was in the shower...too many close calls cleaning out the old toe fungus. Better safe than sorry. Don't want the tombstone saying, 'died while cleaning his disgusting feet in the shower'. The next one was the bar at the top of the stairs. That last step towards the top is getting rough, a little extra pull goes a long way! Also keeps your tombstone from saying, 'found in a bloody mass at the bottom of the staircase'.

Yes, when it's all said and done, I'd like my headstone to say, 'Kicked Ass, Took Names, He Sure Did Love Roxbury!'. See you all at the reunion in a couple of weeks class of 1995. It's going to be nice to see everybody. Bunch of old fogeys!

My lord, that's a long way up. Might just hunker down on the couch tonight dear!
