Daylight Savings

I'm going to start off by saying I personally have no ill feelings or disdain for daylight savings that many seem to have all of a sudden. I personally love it to be honest. It ushers in the sunshine, and it coincides with the season changing from the dregs of winter to the bright optimism of spring. The days are longer and the kids get off their devices and actually want to go outside...what a concept!

Take a moment to envision all the splendor to come...St. Patrick's Day and its promise of corned beef and green beer is right around the corner. The daffodils and crocus plants wake up and begin to stretch out from their long winter's nap. Warm weather, longer days, girls in bikinis! For God's sake, isn't this worth one lousy hour of sleep? With no pun intended, it's literally a breath of fresh air. Why would anybody in their right mind hate this?! Seems crazy to me.

The vitriol this causes every year over one lousy hour of lost sleep is mind boggling. Can you people please have a little optimism in your lives and quit finding shit to complain about? It cracks me up how we do this dance every year. The complaining, the moaning and groaning, the feeling that we have been flat out robbed of our humanity. It's treated as if some lawmaker just came up with this scheme and we're being forced to accept it at all costs or be hung for not buying in. It's been here your entire life people, so stop treating it every year like this is some new concept forced upon you.

Toughen up folks it's one fucking hour...which quite frankly, you lost on Sunday morning not today. Try having children if you want to talk about lost hours of sleep. I haven't slept in a decade, so piss off. I implore all of you daylight savings naysayers to take five minutes to yourself, get off your lazy Facebook complaining asses and go outside. Take in a deep breath, smell that spring air and exhale. Forget about your precious hour of sleep and take solace in the fact that you survived another long cold sunless winter!

One another note, I'm frigging exhausted so I'm going to go lay down for an hour or so.

Take that winter!
Take that winter!
